Autism and ADHD Testing
I am passionate about providing affordable access to testing for both ADHD and Autism. I hope that by reducing the financial barrier to testing services, people are able to learn about neurodiversity and begin to understand themselves and their needs in a deeper and more meaningful way.
At Spectra, I offer: Expert Assessment & Counseling Services; An Accepting & Sensitive Approach; and An Inclusive Assessment Environment
What are the benefits of testing?
Understanding & Self-Acceptance
Testing can provide a framework for understanding oneself. It can explain challenges faced throughout a person's life and offer a sense of identity. This can be empowering and lead to greater self-acceptance.
Targeted Support & Therapies
Following a diagnosis, people can access therapies and support designed to address their specific needs. This could include speech therapy, occupational therapy, or social skills training. These interventions can significantly improve a person's quality of life and help them thrive in areas they might have previously struggled.
Access to Support Networks
A diagnosis can connect individuals and families with a community of others who share similar experiences. Support groups and online forums can provide invaluable social connection, shared experiences, and access to additional resources.
Accommodations
A diagnosis can ensure people receive appropriate accommodations. This might involve modifications to a learning environment, individualized instruction, access to assistive technologies, or appropriate employment accommodations.
At Spectra, I believe in creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for every client. My testing process goes beyond the traditional clinical setting. I offer calming features like soft lighting, fidget toys, a variety of textures in pillows, blankets, and rugs, and a wide selection of music to personalize your experience. I understand that ADHD and Autism can manifest differently in each individual, and I account for factors like gender stereotypes, trauma history, and masking behaviors that can sometimes obscure a diagnosis. This comprehensive approach helps me provide accurate assessments and effective counseling services.
